Smart S-SMD-M005 floor moisture smart sensor measures the'soil moisture on a large volume of soil.
This sensor incorporates the 10HS sensor tested in the field and A/D 12 bits, providing ± 3 per cent accuracy under most soil conditions and ± 2 per cent accuracy with soil-specific calibration.
The 10 cm probes measure soil moisture on a larger volume of soil, allowing for average soil variability.
Readings are provided directly in volumetric moisture content.
The high frequency design the sensor minimizes salinity and texture effects and gives it a wide range of measurement.
It is also available in wireless model for use with the field monitoring system HOBOnet.

Although the sensor probe and cable can operate safely at temperatures below freezing point (up to -40°C/F) and the smart sensor tube (the white part of the sensor cable that houses the electronics) can be exposed to temperatures up to +70°C (+158°F), the soil moisture data collected at these extreme temperatures are outside the precise measuring range of the sensor.
Extended temperatures above +50°C (+122°F) will reduce the battery life of the recorder when using the smart S-SMD-M005 sensor.
