Smart soil moisture sensor EC5 S-SMC-M005
The soil moisture sensor Smart S-SMC-M005 is affordable and easy to install, it uses eC-5 ECH2O sensor tested in the field and A/D 12 bits to provide precise readings en volumetric moisture content.
Thanks to her design with two teeth, it offers accuracy of ± 3 per cent in typical soil conditions and ± 2 % with one ground specific calibration.
The sensor is designed to maintain a low sensitivity to the salinity and effects of texture of the soil , it provides readings in volumetric moisture content and is compatible with the weather stations autonomous and Web Onset.
It is available in wireless version for use with field monitoring system HOBOnet.

The sensor is capable of providing readings outside the standard volumetric water content range.

There are additional temperature accuracy deviations of ±0.003 m3/m3 / °C maximum for the ECH2O probe in the typical operating temperature environment (The temperature dependence of the smart sensor adapter is negligible. )

Although the sensor probe and cable can operate safely at temperatures below freezing point (up to -40°C/F) and up to 75°C (167°F), soil moisture data collected at these extreme temperatures are outside the accuracy of the measuring range sensor.
